We were thrilled to receive an exciting update about one of our year two pupils and his incredible achievements in football over the space of one month.
Theo was asked to play for Blackburn Rovers in a mini tournament and he’s been asked back by them to play away to Aston Villa. He played in a mini tournament at Manchester United’s Training academy and did so well that he’s also been invited down by Manchester United for training!
He also played at Sheffield Wednesday’s academy helping another team out.
Theo was lucky to be a mascot for Sunderland’s first team v Doncaster on Good Friday and got to meet all his favourite players.
Whitburn Primary were very impressed this week when we found out about the skills of Theo from year two. Theo, who is six years old, has spent the year training at Sunderland and Middlesbrough football clubs as a Goalkeeper. He also played for Sunderland, when he was only 5 years old, in a friendly game.
Three weeks ago, he had an amazing experience playing against premier league academies Everton and Manchester City at their club training pitches.
He has personal 1 to 1 coaching 3 times a week and plays for three grassroots teams to help him develop his skills further.
We think Theo is definitely one to watch for the future. Well done Theo.
